Service Project – Saturday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Register HERE!
COS is helping sort and prepare donations collected for refugees with Bethany Christian Services in Jenkintown and Cradles to Crayons in Philadelphia.

Option 1: Cradles to Crayons (Philadelphia) - Ages 5+ with a parent.
Volunteer at one of the stations in the warehouse where they quality-check, sort and package donations for families.
Maximum 20 people total.

Option 2: Bethany Christian Services (Jenkintown) - Ages 8+ with parent.
Help them complete an inventory of donated supplies so they know exactly what they have to serve future refugees. Following this, the team will help them organize their two storage rooms in the Jenkintown office.
Maximum 10 people total
Picnic with COS and the Afghan Community - Saturday 3-6 p.m. - Register HERE!
Moving to a new country, especially after significant trauma and loss, is incredibly challenging and lonely. Help us welcome the Afghans that have resettled in the Philadelphia region at the picnic. While language and cultural barriers exist, there are many ways to communicate and break down barriers. Our guests will have varying degrees of English, but all need community and people that are patient with them and willing to help them learn and adjust to life in a new place with a new language. There will be fun games for children and adults, soccer, and dinner. This day is designed to build relationships so come and connect!

Location: We will meet in the north field at COS, for food and games. (In case of rain, we will meet in the gym.)

Dinner: To welcome our guests, we will be serving a Halal/Mediterranean meal. The suggested cost per person is $15. Would you also consider donating extra to help cover the meal costs for our Afghan guests?
Sunday Morning Services - We are excited to welcome Robert Antonucci as our guest speaker for Sunday services. Rob is originally from Maine, and he became a follower of Jesus in 1985 through IVCF at the University of Delaware. He has been working in cross-cultural ministry since 1988: formerly serving in Central Asia with a Christian development NGO; currently serving as the Assistant Director of the Dr. J Christy Wilson Jr. Center for World Mission at Gordon Conwell; consulting, recruiting, and training with Frontiers and EPC (Evangelical Presbyterian Church); and speaking in Perspectives on the World Christian Movement and in churches. He and his wife, Iris, oversee ongoing translation projects and work among Central Asians both in-country and locally. They live in Wenham, MA, and enjoy long walks, history, kayaking, and travel.
Lunch & Learn - Sunday 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Register HERE! We know that God will be working throughout the weekend as we serve, welcome and hear from God’s Word. In order to equip us more for the work that God is leading COS to engage in, we will host “lunch & learn” workshops after the services. Topics will include: navigating Muslim culture, sharing your faith with Muslims and a panel discussion about refugee resettlement.
