We're eagerly looking forward to the glorious weekend of Easter and to sharing its warmth and hope with each of you. We also encourage you to invite family and guests to experience the fullness of all that Easter represents. It begins with Maundy Thursday on April 1st, a traditional service at 7:30 that evening, and continues the following night with our modern Good Friday service a half-hour earlier at 7 p.m. Communion will be served during both of these services. And then on Easter Sunday morning, join us for our sunrise service at 6:30, followed by the traditional service at 9 and modern service at 10:30. We joyously welcome everyone!
The events that took place during Jesus’s last days on earth reverberate through the ages. “Jesus knew that the hour had come for Him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end" (John 13: 1). Jesus prepared the disciples whom He loved for His impending suffering and death. Through the recorded events of Holy Week, we too are prepared to face the sorrows of life, the sin of our hearts and the brokenness of our world. The days leading up to Easter allow us the space to reflect and confess our great need for redemption and rescue by Jesus, our Jesus. His love for us is reflected in every step that brings Him closer to His own crucifixion. Jesus came to earth to save humanity by His death on the cross on Good Friday, and by His resurrection on Easter Sunday. Dear Church of the Saviour family, may we continue to prepare our hearts as Jesus swings wide open the doors of heaven, washing clean our sins and ushering us into the presence of God forever. —Executive Pastor Drew Angus
